Україна воює. Але ця війна — не лише військова: це війна цивілізацій. Зіткнення двох бачень людини, родини, спільноти, відношення до Бога й до історії.

Сьогодні не існує жодної платформи християнської, укоріненої та суверенної думки, яка б захищала Україну в цьому глибокому сенсі — ні в Україні, ні в Західній Европі. Саме цю прогалину покликаний заповнити Інститут Софія.

Ми — європейці в цивілізаційному розумінні: спадкоємці Візантії і Риму, Шептицького і Бернаноса, Іоанна Павла ІІ і Пеґі. Ми віримо, що Україна є Европою — не як бюрократичний проєкт, а як жива духовна і культурна реальність.

Ми боремося проти будь-якої форми імперіалізму, що зазіхає на гідність людини і українського народу як такого. І ми віримо, що українці покликані заново відкрити красу своєї власної ідентичності — вільно, без чийогось стороннього впливу.

Але це відкриття — не лише дар для самих українців. У старій Европі, де відчуження та індивідуалізм атомізували людину і розчинили всі приналежності, Україна має місію: нагадати Заходу красу того, що він забув. Не повчанням — а свідченням.

Інститут Софія народжується з переконання: війна виграється також у царині духу — і саме там ми воюємо.

Ми думаємо, ведемо діалог, будуємо мости. І ми віримо, що здорове суспільство вимірюється насамперед тим, як воно ставиться до своїх: до старших, до молоді, до забутих.

L'Ukraine est en guerre. Mais cette guerre n'est pas seulement militaire : c'est une guerre de civilisation. Elle oppose deux visions de l'être humain, de la famille, de la communauté, du rapport à Dieu et à l'histoire.

Il n'existe pas aujourd'hui de plateforme de pensée chrétienne, enracinée et souverainiste qui défende l'Ukraine dans ce sens profond — ni en Ukraine, ni en Europe occidentale. C'est ce vide que l'Institut Sophia entend combler.

Nous sommes européens au sens civilisationnel du terme — héritiers de Byzance et de Rome, de Cheptytskyj et de Bernanos, de Jean-Paul II et de Péguy. Nous croyons que l'Ukraine est l'Europe, non comme projet bureaucratique, mais comme réalité spirituelle et culturelle vivante.

Nous luttons contre toute forme d'impérialisme qui porte atteinte à la dignité de l'homme et du peuple ukrainien comme tel. Et nous croyons que les Ukrainiens ont à redécouvrir la beauté de leur propre identité — librement, sans être sous l'influence de quiconque.

Mais cette redécouverte n'est pas seulement un don pour les Ukrainiens eux-mêmes. Dans une Europe ancienne où le déracinement et l'individualisme ont atomisé l'homme et dissous les appartenances, l'Ukraine a une mission : rappeler à l'Occident la beauté de ce qu'il a oublié. Non par leçon, mais par témoignage.

L'Institut Sophia naît de cette conviction : la guerre se gagne aussi dans l'ordre de l'esprit, et c'est là que nous combattons.

Nous pensons, nous dialoguons, nous construisons des ponts. Et nous croyons qu'une société saine se mesure d'abord à la façon dont elle traite les siens : ses anciens, ses jeunes, ses oubliés.

Ukraine is at war. But this war is not only military: it is a war of civilizations. A clash of two visions of the human person, the family, the community, the relationship to God and to history.

No platform of Christian, rooted, and sovereignist thought currently exists to defend Ukraine in this profound sense — neither in Ukraine nor in Western Europe. It is this void that the Sophia Institute is called to fill.

We are Europeans in the civilizational sense — heirs of Byzantium and Rome, of Sheptytsky and Bernanos, of John Paul II and Péguy. We believe that Ukraine is Europe, not as a bureaucratic project, but as a living spiritual and cultural reality.

We stand against every form of imperialism that threatens the dignity of the human person and of the Ukrainian people as such. And we believe that Ukrainians are called to rediscover the beauty of their own identity — freely, without being under the influence of anyone.

But this rediscovery is not only a gift for Ukrainians themselves. In an ancient Europe where uprootedness and individualism have atomized the human person and dissolved all belonging, Ukraine has a mission: to remind the West of the beauty of what it has forgotten. Not through lesson, but through witness.

The Sophia Institute is born of this conviction: war is also won in the order of the spirit — and that is where we fight.

We think, we dialogue, we build bridges. And we believe that a healthy society is measured first by how it treats its own: its elders, its young, its forgotten.
